LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -- The City of La Crosse cut the ribbon on Weigent Park`s brand-new shelter Monday. The city and the Weigent-Hogan Neighborhood Association have worked for years to improve the park and its shelter space.
The WHNA`s president, Linda Lee, said the park has been a long time coming.She said she is excited to see everything come together."It gives the community around the park someplace to go, to congregate. A sense of community can be built by having that shelter there and having a meeting place," Lee said.
