MADISON, Wis. (TND) — The Associated Students of Madison (ASM), a student governance group at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, proposed a resolution last week demanding the campus be declared a safe space for LGBT students.The resolution, introduced by ASM Equity and Inclusion Committee Chair Emmett Lockwood, seeks to make the Wisconsin campus a “transgender and nonbinary sanctuary." The proposal follows the lead of similar bills passed by the City of Madison and Dane County, Wisc.
