The YMCA of Dane County will build a new, state-of-the-art 97,200-square-foot facility in Fitchburg as it launches a partnership with Access Community Health Centers by locating a 10,000-square-foot clinic within the facility.Over the past two years-plus, the Y’s Community Building Community Campaign raised more than $31.2 million toward the construction of a transformative $58 million project that will expand access to child care, health care, youth programming, healthy living opportunities and senior and community connectedness.
“Demand for accessible, high-quality programs that support health, wellness and youth development continues to grow, and this facility allows us to better serve our community for generations to come,” said YMCA of Dane County President & CEO Mark Westover in a statement.
The new YMCA will be located on seven acres at McKee Road and Spoke Drive in Fitchburg. In addition to convenient access from nearby Verona Road and Seminole Highway, it is served by Metro Transit and is adjacent to the Badger State Trail. It will replace the current West YMCA located seven minutes away...
RSK: Rumor has it they will abandon the YMCA at WHitney Way & The Beltline and no doubt it will become apartments.
