U.S. hotels report 21st consecutive week of year-over-year growth

The U.S. hotel industry reported a 21st consecutive week of positive year-over-year comparisons, according to CoStar’s latest data.

For the week of Aug. 30-Sept. 5 (percentage change from comparable week in 2025):

  • Occupancy: 63 percent (+9.4 percent)
  • Average daily rate: $159.19 (+6.1 percent)
  • Revenue per available room: $100.31 (+16.1 percent)

Year-over-year growth was elevated by the Labor Day calendar shift.

Week over week, occupancy was down 1.7 percent, ADR increased 1.3 percent and RevPAR declined 0.4 percent. The rate growth offset most of the occupancy decline, and the $2.05 increase in ADR helped limit the decrease in RevPAR.
